Schedule and Cancel Office Visits

OFFICE VISITS.
We do accept walk-in patients. However, we do not accept walk-in patients after 11:30 a.m. for the morning and after 5:00 p.m. for the afternoon. If you have any particular large number of issues to be addressed during a visit, please advise the front desk in advance, so that adequate time can be allocated. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify us. This courtesy greatly enhances our ability to service our patients and allows our staff the opportunity to serve you effectively. We will make every attempt to honor your appointment time because we believe in the value of your time and recognize the inconvenience of unexpected waiting. Doctor Grebennikov gives each patient as much time as required according to their needs. This may sometimes result in your appointment running late. Please understand this. Your appointment may also run late if there are any emergencies or the patient ahead of you, unexpectedly, has been admitted to the hospital. Medical emergencies take priority in all other routine office visits should the need arise. Please check with our front desk staff each time that you arrive for your appointment. It is necessary to update your personal and insurance information at each visit.

CANCELLATIONS AND NO-SHOWS.
We understand that at times, you may not be able to keep your appointments as scheduled. In order to service all patients equally, we ask that you notify our office 24 hours ahead of any missed appointment. This gives another patient the opportunity to be seen in your place. When a schedule is full, you may be worked-in. Unfortunately, there are patients that do not show for appointments or, without a phone call, will cancel. We will make every available opportunity to accommodate your schedule. IT IS OUR POLICY TO DISCHARGE PATIENTS FROM THE PRACTICE AFTER 3 CONSECUTIVE MISSED FOLLOW-UPS. If you, as a patient, have not shown for an appointment due to circumstances beyond your control, please contact the office manager.

Telephone Calls

During office hours, we will use an automated answering system. If you are a patient calling for a medical reason, you will be transferred to our medical station. Due to the high volume of patient calls during clinic hours, our staff may be unable to talk to you immediately. However, if you redirected to voicemail, please leave a message clearly stating your name, nature of the phone call and telephone number where you may be reached. Our nursing staff will be happy to return your call on the same day.

Prescription Refills

Prescription refills are handled by the doctor and medical staff during office hours. At peak times, this may take up to 24 hours to accomplish. Please do not wait until you are completely out of medication before calling for a refill. THE BEST WAY TO ENSURE TIMELY REFILLS IS TO CONTACT YOUR PHARMACY AND ASK TO FAX THE REFILL REQUEST TO 972 235-2459. We will not be able to phone-in refills after normal business hours, as we need to review your chart to make sure the prescriptions are accurately phoned-in and recorded in your medical record. Occasionally, Dr. Grebennikov may telephone in an emergency prescription under special circumstances. It is our policy not to provide refills for narcotics or other controlled substances over the telephone anytime, including weekends, evenings, or holidays. If you are currently prescribed narcotics or other controlled substances, you may present in person to the clinic at your regularly scheduled visit in order to receive your prescriptions. We will not respond to pharmacy calls on your behalf requesting prescription refills after hours. If the refill is appropriate for a prescription written at the time of your scheduled visits, Dr. Grebennikov will indicate so on your written prescription. Due to high volumes of patients, we can no longer provide medication samples to our patients without a scheduled visit during regular office hours. Our samples are very limited and reserved for indigent patients and their families.


BRAIN MUSIC THERAPY

Brain Music Therapy is an effective, scientifically proven treatment for stress, insomnia, anxiety, and depression. It has also been found to increase productivity and concentration.

Brain Music Therapy records an individual's brain waves and converts them into unique musical sounds. These musical sounds correlate to brain waves that promote relaxation and trigger activation in your body. The musical sounds are presented to you in the form of two musical files - one relaxing, and one activating. Playing those files promotes relaxation and activation in your body.

Brain Music Therapy does not involve taking pills, and has had no side effects to date. It is customized to an individual's unique brain waves and backed by solid scientific evidence, including double blind studies.

Galina Mindlin, M.D., Ph.D. is the founder and director of Brain Music Treatment in the US. She is an Asst. Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University and is in private practice in - New York City. She has a Ph.D. in neurophysiology and neuro-psychology, and is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology.
